Enrichment Opportunities

We believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programs are designed to inspire creativity, support academic growth, and foster social-emotional development for all students. Through dynamic partnerships, we offer a wide range of opportunities that nurture the whole child—during and after the school day.

  • Arts and Crafts

  • STEAM Activities and Tutoring

  • Free before- and after-school programs

  • Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)

  • Spirit Weeks and visual and performing arts

  • Holiday performances, parades, and other school traditions

  • Student Clubs and Competitions

ASB Leadership

At Lugo, we’re building the next generation of leaders. Our ASB Leadership team is made up of dedicated 5th and 6th grade students who lead by example and take pride in serving both our school and community. From organizing campus events to leading service projects, these student leaders are making a positive impact and inspiring others along the way.

Gardening Club

Our School Garden offers students a hands-on learning experience that extends beyond the classroom walls. Through gardening, students build problem-solving skills, explore environmental concepts, and develop a sense of responsibility and curiosity about the natural world. Time spent in the garden allows students to slow down, focus their attention, and re-center—whether they’re digging in the soil, watering plants, or observing insects. It’s a calming, engaging way to learn and grow together.

P.S. Arts

P.S. ARTS brings high-quality arts education directly into our classrooms and after-school programs, offering instruction in dance, music, theater, and visual arts. This organization is dedicated to improving the lives of children in underserved communities by leveling the educational playing field through the power of the arts.

P.S. ARTS also engages families through community outreach and cultural events, helping build a stronger connection between schools and families while encouraging advocacy for educational equity.

Conga Kids

Conga Kids introduces students to the world of partner dance, building skills that go far beyond the dance floor. Through this joyful and high-energy program, students develop confidence, teamwork, respect, and leadership, along with essential communication skills. Conga Kids empowers students to express themselves and connect with others in meaningful and respectful ways.

Think Together

Our partnership with Think Together provides Afterschool Expanded Learning Programs for students in grades K-8. These programs offer a safe, structured space for children after school and include a variety of academic and enrichment activities.

Students receive support in English Language Arts, Math, STEM, Youth Development, and Arts & Enrichment, helping them build skills and confidence. Families also benefit from this program’s focus on attendance, behavior, and academic performance—while working parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are engaged in meaningful learning.
