Lynwood Educational Foundation Awards $10,000 in Grants to Lynwood Schools to Support Student Success

Three Lynwood Unified schools will expand gardens, provide essential resources to students and families, and promote increased literacy thanks to nearly $10,000 in direct grants from the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation (LPEF).

Recipients of the LPEF School Grants are Lugo Elementary School, which will expand its garden and promote healthy eating and physical activity; Firebaugh High School, which will develop a Falcon Closet to provide clothing, toiletries and personal hygiene products to students in need; and Roosevelt Elementary School, which will create an outdoor reading garden to promote literacy, mental health and a love of reading.

LPEF Executive Director Elsa Chagolla and Board of Directors member Stephen Faulk, Esq. presented grant winners with checks during a recognition on February 12.

The School Grant program, now in its second year, aims to support school-wide projects aimed at enriching and enhancing the learning environments for students and teachers in the District. Since 2023, LPEF has awarded six grants totaling $19,714. Additionally, the nonprofit has secured over $1 million in funding to support college scholarships, programs and resources crucial to student success.
