Lynwood Unified Launches Open Enrollment for TK/K and Dual Language Immersion for 2024-25 School Year

Lynwood Unified’s enrollment for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten is now open for the 2024-25 school year, providing early learners with a quality education that supports all areas of development while preparing them for success throughout their educational journey.

To kickstart enrollment, LUSD elementary schools in February will host a series of information sessions to walk families through the enrollment process, share the benefits of TK/Kinder programs, and provide them with an opportunity to meet with teachers and staff. Programs are led by a well-rounded team of passionate educators and dedicated staff committed to fostering supportive environments that inspire lifelong learning.

The District’s TK program provides an outstanding opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with class routines and participate in engaging activities, significantly enhancing their excitement for learning. To be eligible for TK, students must be 4 years old on or by September 1, 2024 while Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or by September 1, 2024.

Families may visit the LUSD TK/K Enrollment web page or contact their school to learn more about important dates, complete the 2024-25 enrollment packet, request forms and more.

Additionally, Lynwood Unified is expanding its Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program to Mark Twain Elementary School, providing more opportunities for young learners to read, write and communicate in English and Spanish, and fortify their skills for use in college, career and life.

DLI informational meetings will take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Mark Twain and Will Rogers elementary schools on Tuesday, February 27.

Families can also learn more about the educational model and request to enroll their student in a DLI program by visiting the enrollment page.
